We are hiring our first nanny in March!
Is contributing towards health insurance standard in nanny contracts? How much is the usual monthly contribution towards health insurance? We live in DC |
We live in Bethesda and provide stipend for Health insurance to our Nanny $400 monthly. |
We’re contributing about $385. We pay this cash/check(not included in payroll). We’re located in Cleveland Park. |
$450 DC(Georgetown) |
My family used to pay all of my premium. They gave me a separate check each month for the amount. |
Nanny here, I work in Chevy Chase and I get full
Reimbursement health insurance $473.81 monthly(this is the only $$ that’s not in my payroll , anything else is taxed.) |
Nanny here. My old family paid my whole premium for five years. I am with a new family now and they contribute $50 a month. It’s a benefit that’s nice to have but you don’t have to offer it at all if you don’t want. |
We pay the full monthly premium around $500. She has it on autopay, gives us a printout for our records and then we reimburse. |
Some families provide a health insurance reimbursement, others don't. It ranges from $50 to full. |
Many payroll companies will separate the healthcare payment for you so taxes aren’t deducted. So much easier to track. It is not the employer’s responsibility to be sure it is used for healthcare-that is on the employee or nanny. If they don’t use it in healthcare the IRS can pursue. |
Nanny here. In a nanny share currently and both families come together to pay 2/3 of my health insurance premium. And I pay the reminder 1/3 |
