AP does not wash hands after bathroom RSS feed

When she uses the bathroom, you hear the toilet flush and she opens the door and walks right. How do you politely ask her to wash her hands? I have tried to give her a hint by asking asking my youngest child to wash his hands again whenever he comes out of the bathroom 5 secs after he he flushes. I even told the AP that if you hear the toilet flush and hear my son turn the water on for only 5 seconds and walk out you can ask him to wash his hands again. I thought that would be a hint to her but every single time she uses the bathroom she flushes and walks out. The water does not even get turned on. I don’t like to give hints but don’t know how to w to approach it. Thanks.

I'm pretty non confrontational but when you have a young adult living in your home you've gotta grow a backbone and be straight with them.

One of our APs never cleaned her room or bathroom. It got to a point where pink slime was growing in her shower, which was pretty new. I bought special sprays and just talked to her one day: hey I noticed pink slime in your shower. That stuff is not good for your health. Here is a spray for it--please use it regularly. I was even toned, and she just nodded her head. Did she become a cleaner person overnight? No. But she did make an effort to stay on top on the most egregious dirt.

Be direct, be kind. No beating around the bush.

"In this country, we wash our hands with soap after using the toilet. Do you like your soap, or do you want $10 to go to Bath & Body Works to get a different one?"

Please no. The "in this country" part would seriously make me murderous. It's so condescending.

Simply say, could you please wash your hands after using the bathroom. If you want a different type of soap, let me know.

She is an employee. Put up a sign in the bathroom and enforce it.

Tell her something like : I've noticed that the hand soap goes unused, don't you like the scent ? I can get you another one.

That's the polite way ...

This is a major health hazard. Hope you take care of it immediately. It’s not optional.

Seriously, "in this country" we don't try to have any form of universal health care, we don't have paid sick leave, nor guaranteed maternity leave. spare me with the superiority

Science experiment time? Get the supplies needed to do the handwashing experiment. With cold and flu season coming up, ask her to conduct the experiment with germ-simulating powder or gel and a black or UV light, to help show the kids the importance of proper handwashing. Then add a note above your tap and on doors to remember to wash hands.
