Hi Everyone, we were planning on having a wonderful au pair come from France to take care of our kids in October, but we just heard that we are very likely to relocate back to Europe. Her name is Maeva, she is with the "Au Pair in America" agency and she is available starting on October 1st. If you belong to Au Pair in America and are looking for a great au pair in the Oct-Jan timeframe, we would warmly recommend her. Her profile is on the Au Pair in America website.
Here is a little more about Maeva:
- She was actually supposed to come to our family in the summer of 2020 but her plans were canceled due to COVID. For the past two years, we kept in touch with Maeva, trying to bring her to our family despite the pandemic. Maeva dealt with the challenges with grace, maturity and resourcefulness.
- Maeva is French. We had a chance to meet her in Paris when we visited my family last summer. She instantly bonded with the kids, who were looking forward to having her as their next au pair.
- Maeva just graduated from college. She can help with the kids' homework.
We had 5 au pairs already and we can say with certainty that Maeva is a gem. We would love for her to find a wonderful family in the DC area, a region that we was very excited to discover.
Please feel free to spread the word to other families who might be interested.

So ... you are recommanding an Au Pair that has never worked for you. She can be sweet, kind etc, you've never actually seen her work with children.

It's very nice of you trying to help. But how this Au pair can be a gem? You barely know her. You just met her once or maybe a couple of days in your vacations. How someone can bond with your kids if you really hasn't see her in action. Working, playing with your kids, being responsible, following and respecting your rules and have a good judgment when she is caring for your kids?.

Possible that this is written by an au pair looking to come to the DC area. The line about "she just graduated from college and can help with the kids' homework" is a little odd... That said, I appreciate the resourcefulness!
