Does anyone have an au pair, nanny, or nanny share? My husband and I are considering baby #2 and trying to get an idea of expenses. Please feel free to share here or via DM. Thanks!

A full time nanny will cost between $20 and $35 an hour for 40 hours. It all depends on the experience, qualifications, education, and status of the nanny.

Our nanny share is $16 an hour per family. Exactly 40 hours a week so no overtime. There are lower and higher cost shares.

Yes. We both pay through a payroll service.

What payroll service do you use? I wouldn’t know where to start looking! Thanks.

We aren’t in DC but you should use the same payroll service as the other family.

Our shares were $12 per family in DC (so $24 per hour for the nanny) but that just wrapped at the end of the year - would probably be a bit more now with inflation.

We now pay $25 per hour for the nanny on our own, with 2 kids.

We use and love Poppins payroll.
