Our nanny’s first year with us is coming up. I have heard that a $1/hr raise is standard. What are people doing now that inflation is 7%? I am thinking I should at least give her a raise equal to inflation (~$2/hr). We pay on the books and overtime, so it would be a significant increase for us. Looking to hear from nanny employers, please. |
Agree with $2hr raise |
If you can do $2 I would . |
I would do $1 raise and performance bonus at the number you consider appropriate, but that was discussed at the outset. The raise I feel is non-negotiable but I have liked the flexibility of a bonus that rewards really stellar work but doesn’t commit me forever. |
So a raise plus a cash bonus? |
Yes, with the bonus explicitly tied to performance, and the raise as the routine raise |
