Is it common or uncommon to get paid on trial day for couple hours?
Today I went in which was supposed to be for an hour turn into three hours No pay, only a thank you for coming see you tomorrow we’re so excited. |
They will probably pay you the hours with your first week. |
Common to be paid for trial days. But I wouldn’t expect it on the spot unless I “failed” the trial and they weren’t going to hire me. |
Yes trial days are paid |
You should confirm with them. They should pay the trial days whether or not they hire you.

Yes this should have been paid. |
Trial days are paid, and it should have been done then. |
Couple of days they should pay you. But if a family ask me to go only for a trail of couple of hrs I wouldn't expect anything; if I would know %90 the position it's mine. If they pay you after your couple of hrs and tell you just thanks for coming. In that case they should pay you. |
I get paid for trial day(s), it’s my personal time. I won’t attend a trial until payment has been discussed and agreed upon. Trial has to be at least 1 hr and payment is given at the end in cash. |
They should have let nanny know in advance, and paid for it on the spot. There was no guarantee that the nanny would even want to accept the job if offered it. |
Thank You everyone for your answers,
I spoke to my employers when I realize my paycheck was short Also about my trial hours. They apologize and thank me for letting them know Give me a check with with balance owed. |
