| Does anyone know when the Brazil travel ban will be lifted and when US embassies and consulates in Brazil will start issuing J-1 visas? We want an au pair from Brazil to arrive in September 2021. |

| I wouldn’t hold your breath. Even if they do open the consulates before then (which I doubt), there is going to be an enormous backlog of cases. If you really really want a Brazilian au pair, you’re almost certainly going to need to send them to Chile or somewhere like that to get processed and then quarantine |
