Require nanny to be vaccinated?

My husband and I were just vaccinated as we just became eligible. K asked our nanny if she wanted help finding an appointment and it came out in this conversation she's anti-vax. We are pretty surprised. She's leaving us in September anyway but we're not sure how to handle this. Can we require her to get the vaccine? Should we?

Is she anti-vax in general or just for the covid vaccine? That would change the answer for some people.

She’s not vaccinated for tDAP or measles?! Fire her immediately if she won’t get the covid vaccine and eventually the others.

How has she been thus far? You can make it a requirement but that doesn’t mean she will comply. If you plan to start doing more things, then I would think about finding a new nanny, but if you’re going to continue to “lay low” maybe stick it out since you only need help through September? In the meantime, maybe ask her to wear a mask during work hours?

Do a new rule. Is she refuse to get the vaccined it's ok. But yoi requiere her to wear a Mask indoors at work.

I wouldn’t risk my kids lives by keeping her even for just another few months. Vaccinated or fired - her choice.

Being anti-vaccine means you don't do any vaccines. There is not full approval yet for the COVID vaccine and its not the same kind of vaccine as other ones. If you want, fire her. She'll easily find a new job.

I honestly don’t think she will find a new job easily. All the new listing require covid vaccinated. Businesses, schools, daycares, and colleges are mandating it. What ever reservations you have about the covid vaccine, you’re simply going to have to get over or become a hermit.

Nannie get the shot! It protects you, it protects others and sad fact is not getting vaccinated is going to affect your job prospects in the future and potentially your current job whether you like it or not.

Yes, require your nanny to get the covid vaccine! Holy hell, the only humans who can’t be vaccinated are children so requiring your childcare provider to not give covid to your kids is of utmost importance.
