Our au pair got her second covid vaccine dose earlier this week and has announced that she is leaving back to her country. I can't help but think this was pre-planned because there were no issues. I am in shock and very angry about this. |
Except with health issues, how on earth did she get it. Really gross an Au pair can get it but actual teachers cannot. |
I'm sorry this happened to you, that is super crappy with or without covid vaccination. What country is she from? Sorry, I would be hurt too
Also to the second poster, are teachers having trouble getting vaccines? I thought it's just that everyone didn't want it, not that they couldn't get it. All the healthcare providers and teachers I know have been gotten theirs. |
Biden changed that. Teachers and childcare workers can get it no matter what |
Same here. Every teacher I know has been vaccinated. |
link please .. .was always those working in childcare settings like schools and daycares .. not private nannies/Au Pairs |
Thanks all. Childcare providers are eligible (they have been eligible since early January). So she was a "childcare provider" except she is not anymore. And technically, childcare providers who work in centers should get it |
She is from Brazil. I just say this as a warning to other host families. Hopefully it's unique to us, but they are on their networks plotting to get the vaccine. |
This is absolutely not true in every state, perhaps it is in yours, but not in DC. |
who's gonna tell her that she is not fully vaccinated until 4 weeks after dose 2? |
It’s 2 weeks after, not 4. |
yes, my mistake! |
That sucks. Brazil is a mess right now. It must be hard for her to be away from her family while this is all going on. Is she willing to stay for a while until you can get a rematch in place? |
You shouldn't be mad at her for getting a vaccine.
That's her health and you should wish her the best in that matter. You can be mad because she's leaving to go back home. But either she's homesick or she wasn't happy with your family. There's not much you can do against that. |
there are many who still have not been vaccinated that actually need it, including childcare providers who are actually remaining in the job. |
