Please help - I am tax illiterate. My payroll service does not have the ability to withhold state taxes for my nanny because she lives in a different state than where she works. She has asked that we withhold for her, so that she does not need to come up with a lump sum each year. Please help me figure out how much to withhold for her for Maryland state taxes each month based on the following info:
Salary: $41,600/year Filing status: single, non-head-of-household Deductions: standard ($12,400) One of my questions is - do I use the total pay ($41,600) to calculate her state taxes, or do I use her income after deducting her federal taxes. Thanks! |
