So said my 28 month old charge yesterday when I was helping him off the toilet. That was after a morning of watching him joyfully jump into the wind.
This is why I love being a nanny! |
My infant charge got all giggly and squirmy in her mom’s arms when she first saw me and then planted one of those big, wet open mouth kisses on my cheek.
That’s why I love being a nanny. I’m in it for the kisses! |
As the employer of a nanny, I love threads like this. You guys are awesome. |
My 5yo twins keep running up to me randomly throughout our day to hug me and/or tell me I’m the best teacher in the world (nanny and homeschooling). |
+1. |
this is heartwarming!! All I hear from my charges (2 boys) are comments on the same coat and shoes that I wear "all the time." uh, I bought them (not you) and they are clean?!?! |
+2 I hope our nanny feels this way. |
Aww, how sweet! ![]() |
Last kiss my charge told me “you’re my family because I love you”. |
thank you for this! |
My toddler charge called me “my nanny” (as if it were my name) along with a big tight hug. My heart melted.
I love being a nanny. |
My nanny kids (twins) call me "My best". They will say "Nanny, you're my best!" and I'll say best friend? And they say "just my best!" Or they will say "I love you, my best!"
Melts my heart every time. |
A few years ago, I was going over what different occupations do with my then three-year-old charge. Like, “What do doctors do?” - his reply, “Doctors keep us healthy”; “what do police officers do?” - his reply, “police help us”.
Then I asked him what nannies do and he said, “Nannies give us love”. Sweetest job description I’ve ever heard!! |
