We have always had APs who work 43ish hours per week, but had planned to send DD to PREK3 in DC, thinking it would be full-time with before/after care, and take a break from the AP program. It looks unlikely that Fall 2021 will be full-day or have before/after care, so we plan on getting another AP. How would you characterize the hours? Should we say 43 hours, but that it may be less depending on what the school offers? Should we say 30-43? |
I think you should state that it will be 43, given the current pandemic. There may be changes, but we are not sure so it is best to plan on 43 hrs/week as part of the decision-making process for you, as our future AP |
Agree----make the job seem the hardest it can possibly be so they can be surprised pleasantly instead of disgruntled. |
Be clear that the child might go to school, so reduced hours and increased exposure, or they may be home, with reduced exposure and increased hours. You need an AP who can go with the flow, not one who wants to pick for you. |
