We gave MLK and Inauguration day off, but wondering about tomorrow. Seems like the roads where they are coming from are fine. |
Are you worried about road closures and potential unrest in and around DC? |
OP here. I have to work and I need childcare. No one is in the city. |
Given the recent post, it seems like people are making their nannies work on Wednesday. Even those who live in DC. |
I’m working all week |
It’s fine. I’m sure your nanny is planning to work. |
Sure, I’m working all week. We’re not where there is likely to be trouble however and no roads are closed. |
Of course. Unless you live/work in downtown DC there is zero reason not to be at work (for any of us). |
Yes
It’s a holiday and a holiday - the day between the holidays is a workday. It’s not a mark on your character to fail to give your employee a five-day weekend. |
Now my nanny wants the whole week off! we live in DC, but the roads will be open the remainder of the week. Are your nannies off the whole week? |
These nannies are milking their MBs. You decide on the holidays upfront (normally only ones you get off from work). Anything more than that is either due to a special circumstance or generosity. No need to feel guilty if they work everyday this week if that's what is in your contract. |
My nf and I are watching the inauguration together! |
Are anyone's nannies who work on Capitol Hill working tomorrow? |
Why would tomorrow matter. The inauguration was today. |
Nanny doesn't want to come in at all this whole week. |
