Late presents for previous AP? RSS feed

Anonymous
Our previous au pairs is now with a new family in the same city. We are in great term. She just drop off a box of presents for the 5 of us!! I really didn’t expect that and I have no present for her. When she was our au pairs i would get her a couple of small presents and some cash because I knew she needed the money. I would like to show her our appreciation, what should we do for her? I was thinking of a thank you card with a gift card? Any other suggestions? I feel really bad we have nothing for her and it is late to get her something, I wouldn’t even know what to get her!

TIA

You can download an Amazon gift card and put it in a card.

Order something on amazon, and let her know when it will be there.

Cash is always best, especially since she spent what little she had for 5 gifts! Give her cash or a gift card and a small gift, she will really appreciate it.

My previous au pair is in Portugal, and I sent her $50. She was with us for 2 years, and was a fantastic au pair.

$50 is really a slap in the face.

Wow, you’re a *itch. No it isn’t, not for someone who isn’t working for her and isn’t in the country anymore. She isn’t obligated to give her anything.

seriously? maybe OP should just ask for a receipt and reimburse AP what she paid for?

Send a handwritten thank you card from your kids with chocolates and/or champagne for NYE. Is her birthday coming up soon? I would send something big then and it doesn't feel like you are paying back for her gifts!
