If you have an FSA for dependent care, how do you submit receipts for your weekly stipend?
I transfer funds each week to my Au Pair from my checking account, and am not sure how to make a "receipt." I normally submit my agency fee, but won't have one for 2021. Any thoughts? Thanks! |
I've had to do this with two companies. The first I could input the dates worked, amount paid, etc and then the AP could sign. The one I have now I fill out a paper form they provide, AP signs then I scan and upload. No receipt needed. |
You shouldn’t need a weekly receipt. You’ll document 28 weeks of work, online or paper form. Either way, AP signs, then you either mail it in or scan and email. |
I have always made my own receipts. Au pair doesn't need to sign them. I submit them to my DCAP and it is always paid. BTW, I'm an employee benefits attorney.

I would just compile your expenses and submit them once a month or so. A receipt or something signed by the au pair showing the dates of service, the children cared for and the amount you paid them is good enough. |
I sent my au pair agency agreement (which includes: au pair name and stipend requirement) and the transaction history from my bank and it was accepted. |
Same easy. I do it in Jan every year. No issues. |
OP here - just wanted to thank you all for this very helpful information! |
