Do Nannies get 401ks? RSS feed

Anonymous
I ask as my daughter is in college and starting a 7-10am nanny type job. The regular childcare person works 10-6ish. After three months she will be added to a 401k plan which they put in.

My daughter is 18. Will be earning min wage. That sounds nice. Even if they just put in $20 dollars biweekly she is 50 years from retirement.

Is this rare?

I would think so since she is working less than part-time.

Maybe she was offered this benefit because she is only making minimum wage at this time.

Would like to also know what others think so bump.

Very, very, very rare for part time. Uncommon for even full time, well-paid nannies but certainly done in wealthier families with home corporations.

Very rare, even among full time employees.
