MB obsessed with dog. Peeing every where. Want to quit. RSS feed

My MB has been working from home since mid March due to the pandemic. They have a pitbull and ever since she’s been working from home she’s always with that dog! She barely lets it go out to the yard to pee so the dog pees EVERYWHERE. It’s so weird because she gets annoyed when I try to put the dog out and gets mad. The dog is not even out 2 minutes and mb is already putting her back in. Lately I’ve been ignoring the pee and poop but I’ve stepped on it, the kids have slipped. It’s soooo annoying. They had a full time house manager/ house keeper but she quit because mb was being like this for weeks. It’s like mb can’t live without this dog and she’s obsessed with it. I don’t mind letting the dog out or cleaning occasional accidents, but they’re happening BECAUSE she’s letting it happen. I really want to quit. Any thoughts? Even if I try to talk to her she gets mad and defensive. The housekeeper tried talking to her many times and they all ended up in Loud arguments and that’s why she quit.

Quit !! Then maybe she will get it when people keep quitting on her!

Quit. Seriously there has never been a better time to find a new nanny position.

Issue her your walking papers as soon as you collect your next paycheck, then leave.

Or if you truly need the money now, began looking for a new family to work for.

One that hopefully does not come w/a doggy.

Good luck.

That’s nasty. I hate when parents allow their dog to pee and shit everywhere and let it sit there. I had a family who use to let their dog eat everything, and then she'd throw up. So now, I have to either let it sit there or clean it up because they didn’t get home to hours later. I quit and that was just one of my reasons.

I would never have talked a jov with anyone who had a pit bull. She is nuts. Quit.

I’m happy to wrk in a household with animals. However, the animals should be trained (or I should be allowed to do so), and they should not inconvenience the children or me.

In that household, I would have incorporated walking the dog into asking the kids out. Once MB was home and showed she wanted the dog was going to be with her, I would have stated that she would now be responsible for everything related to the dog. That would include making sure the dog went out, cleaning up any messes and keeping the dog in her office. If she wasn’t willing to do that, then I would insist on status quo (from while she was working outside the house). If neither was acceptable, I’d quit.

I have no interest in a dog who has accidents all over the house. If the dog is incontinent, then the dog should wear a doggie diaper. If not, the dog just needs to be trained and to have an opportunity to go out.

OP, you need to start looking for another job now. This is the best time to find a nanny position!
