Reasonable for two children but not three.

Agreed. Our 3-child/2-family share was $29/hour on the Hill with 5 overtime hours at time and a half. However, the oldest (3yrs) was in half day preschool at the time 3 days a week and not in the share (we still paid her her full rate during those times). We were going to bump her salary over the summer when the 3-year-old would be back in the share full-time to $32-$34 hour. It is a lot of work to do a share with three kids and it was supposed to be temporary until the 3yo started full-day prek in the fall (LOL not happening now).

What ended up happening is that we hired the nanny just for ourselves and pay $23/hr for 2 kids, pay her health insurance, give her unlimited paid sick leave. You might be making things too logistically hard by trying to do a 3-kid share.

The only way a three child share makes sense to a nanny is if the logistics work and the pay makes it worth it. Budget $9-10 per child, and the kids should be roughly the same age. If one family has two kids (not twins), they should just get their own nanny.
