Employers - would you want your nanny to inform you if she has a mild cold. I am a nanny and this is not something I would normally need to share as it has little impact on care of my charges. However given the Covid-19 current circumstances, would you want your nanny to inform you if she has any cold/flu like symptoms if they are mild?
|
Yes. Full disclosure now more than ever. |
I always disclose all symptoms. Some parents don’t want a nanny with sniffles around their infant, while others don’t care if the nanny has a fever. |
Absolutely yes.
During these challenging times, it is best to err on the side of caution. ![]() |
110% please disclose. Could you imagine if you do have COVID19 and you infect the family? |
Yes, please disclose! I'm a MB and we put a new clause in our nanny's contract that both us as a family and her have to disclose any cold/flu symptoms and stay home accordingly for 14 days or negative test. Or whatever other parameter comes along. We also have given our nanny unlimited paid sick during the national emergency declaration so she doesn't fear not getting paid if she has just a cold when it could be COVID. |
Nanny here. Yes, just let them know. |
Well if she has covid she most likely already infected the family |
Doesn’t matter if it’s covid or not. During this pandemic, showing a family that you are responsible and trying to keep everyone safe by letting them make a decision about whether you work... That’s priceless to many families. |
