We are currently paying our nanny even though she is not working. I am wondering whether or not she would qualify for unemployment under the new law passed this week and whether it makes financial sense for us to "fire" her so we don't have to keep paying her while she's not working for the next month or two for our family. Thoughts? |
No, this would not work for you. |
You definitely can do this and then rehire her once this is improved . She can collect quite a bit from the stimulus package. |
You can actual write an email that she will be currently furloughed and can come back to work once the coronavirus is Over or your finances are in good health. She qualifies for unemployment and will get a stimulus package that would basically match her weekly pay. |
