Can I request AP to come sooner???

AP is coming in 3wk from Germany. CC has already stopped all APs from China and Italy from coming due to coronavirus. I am starting to get paranoid that they won't let German AP come. Is there anything I can do?? Move up her start date????

I can answer this question because I already called and asked. The answer is no. I also am starting to freak out - our au pair is coming from Brazil in 6 weeks.

Thanks so much for saving me a phone call. I figured it wasn't possible since arrival date is tied to Visa stuff. DId they say what they would do if they start restricting? Try to find you an extension AP or something??? UGH

I didn’t get that far - it was a fairly quick call a week and a half ago. I also thought about the extension au pair thing, but I don’t see how that could work - there will be way more families than extension au pairs.

She will be able to fly in three weeks, I wouldn't worry about that. It'll take more than three weeks to ban international flights.

Trump issued the Europe- us ban in mid March, he will, I’m sure ,extend it. You really think planes will be flying in 3 weeks, and Europeans will be allowed to come in? We haven’t even opened our own country, our own states, not till April 30th for sure, that’s two weeks
So you really think your German au pair is coming the second week of may? CA will be closed till middle of May

OP posted on March 5 so her AP was supposed to arrive around March 26. talking about having no brain
