Do you Nannies help with Christmas decorations? RSS feed

So I’m starting to go nuts lol
My boss been annoying me with removing ALL the Christmas decorations and moving everything downstairs into a storage room
which is very far from the area where all the stuff is
I’m talking about giant garlands and stuff
The kids have been helping, but I’m at that point where I’m frustrated
I’ve worked for many families and NONE ever asked me to do any of this
On top this boss complains about everything
Now she sent me a picture of how to wrap the extension cords and stuff
I’m very busy with the kids and can barely get my schedule done
Serious questions, do any of you help with that stuff, or not at all?
Plus she has cleaning ladies and hands men lol

I help whenever I can but never do anything that takes time away from my charges. I’ve certainly never been asked to pack away Christmas decorations!

You can say no, OP.

Nanny? No. Nanny combined with housekeeper, house manager, family assistant? Sure.

If your contract states nanny will do child-centered tasks, I’d ask how removing Christmas decorations, wrapping them correctly and storing them correctly falls into child-centered tasks rather than household tasks.

No and I’m a house manager. The family did this together the weekend after New Years.

No. She put them up and this is not a nanny's job to take them down. Just tell her no.

I have for one family, but our relationship was different than with other families. If she had micromanaged how I did it, I would have stopped on the spot.
