Great family- often forgets to pay RSS feed

They are a great family & pay via an app. It often hits by the time I make it to my car. I’d say 1/3 of the time they forget & I have to remind them.
Does anyone have a stock script to use to remind folks to pay. A ‘where is my money’ seems to crass, but a ‘I was wondering if you noticed you didn’t pay’ makes me feel like an 8yo asking for allowance.

How about on a regular basis, and in advance, you mark “Pay Day” someplace for them to see? Or text both of them a day or two in advance. You can even ask them how they would like to avoid their late payments.

This is exactly why the nanny needs to know if potential employers are in the habit of paying their bills on time.

Late payments for childcare labor are outrageous.

If I were to continue helping that family, I would insist that they pay me in advance on a weekly basis. They would have to pay me every Monday - for the week.

How about a simple and direct text. Something like, hi, I understand life can get busy and I’m sure it slipped your mind, but you forgot to pay me the other night. You’re overthinking this.

I’m a spacey mom. Just text me “payment reminder!” And I’ll hop to it.

I sent a message, that they’d forgotten to pay. They paid right away.
I am also a mom & despite my many faults have never failed to pay a sitter on time. I just cannot relate to it.

Okay well you don’t have to relate to everything. You’re quoting me and I happen to have ADHD. I tend for forget what’s not directly nagging for my attention.

Ha! I have ADHD as well, but I know when someone is waking out the door if I have paid them.
Adults must provide their own accommodations. We prioritize what is important

Maybe OP needs to learn to be more assertive. It's not a big deal to need to remind your employer to pay you. I'm baffled that having to send a little nudge is so upsetting?

Some adults respond well to a “little nudge,” while others get testy or try to pass off the issue on the nanny.

Then that would be a totally different OP “family gets testy when I tell them they didn’t pay.”
