Change au pair’s phone number when she leaves?

Do you change the phone number that you gave to your au pair once she leaves? Do you give a brand new number to the new au pair?

Not really but it’s certainly better. Because old au pair had her phone number to her Uber account, etc.

I would you don't know who former AP gave her phone number to and you wouldn't want new AP to be harassed by AP's former hook ups or whatever.

We've been hosting since 2015 and haven't changed it. I would if there was an issue but so far it's been only helpful. All my family who contacts our AP always has the number in their phone.

This! Never changed the number. Never had an issue.

I was give the AP phone when AP rematched quickly. She never canceled her gym membership, so I got calls weekly for three months (they wouldn’t let me cancel it, and I had no contact info for her). I couldn’t use Uber or Lyft. And I had to create a new account at Harris teeter because something locked it up every time.

As long as your AP cuts off all memberships and either gives you passwords or deletes accounts, it should be fine. Otherwise, please get a new number!

We had this problem this year. Last au pair was great, but took weeks and multiple asks to delete her uber account so new au pair could use the number. No other real problems with recycling the number for past several years.

We always get a new phone number for a new au pair. It doesn't cost much and makes everyone's life easier.
