I am sure that this question has been asked hundreds of times, is there is good post or FAQ about the steps to become an employer? I've seen care.com but am looking for more comprehensive resources that are not biased toward the site.
We are new parents seeking care and are located outside of the DC immediate area (we are in a town that is a far suburb - think some place like Frederick). Most of my questions are around contract terms and withholding and payment logistics. We are planning to pay on the books and 2 weeks paid vacation and 5 sick days. We are not planning to pay for retirement or health insurance. Looking for any resources on DCUM or elsewhere that explains we we need to know. |
You're really going to need to do multiple searches on here to find what you need. |
I would suggest you look at Homework Solutions. They have great logs in these topics. Also, they offer m
Payroll service that is reasonably priced. |
GTM Payroll Services also has good resources: https://gtm.com/household/resource-center/hiring-a-nanny/ and https://gtm.com/household/resource-center/complete-guide-household-payroll/. GTM will do your workers' comp too which is required in DC. They're also a little bit cheaper than Homework and Homepay. |
