Holiday gift for an au pair I literally know nothing about RSS feed

Ap has been here 4 months and I am drawing a blank on gifts. She spends no time with us outside of work and I don’t know what she likes. Ideas?

Gift card for where she goes when not with you? Starbucks? Movies? Fav restaurant? I wouldn't go overboard since she may not want to spend much time with you over the holidays (since she doesn't otherwise, it would seem weird).

I agree with gift cards, but also want to add that nice toiletries are a good idea. Like scented lotion, body wash, loofahs, fun face mask, a nice bath robe. And is she from a warm area? Does she have gloves, a warm scarf?

I do really small gift and cash! They love the cash, better than anything they will never use. I gave 2 small gifts card for the local coffee shop to my current AP and she hasn't even had the chance to go there lol

mini set of nail polish, single use face masks or bath bombs, gift cards to starbucks, cash

If she's chosen not to become "part of the family" then you don't need to spend too much time/energy on gifts. Gift card to Starbucks. Mittens/scarf for cold weather if she's from a warmer climate. Some cash. And done.

Our AP was shocked that we do not buy her toiletries. She considers this part of her board (whereas we consider toilet paper, cleaning supplies, tissue board). So, we prepare a welcome basket of toiletries and then get her a gift certificate to Ulta or Target - that way she can get the fancy shampoo she wants.

Sephora gift card.

Please don't. Unless you really know that your AP will use it. Isn't everyone sick of the useless Christmas toiletry?

Ever since my step-mom bought me packing cubes for my birthday, they have been a great gift for our AP. (Our third AP will find them under the tree this year.) This is a young person who will travel (we hope) and probably never thought about buying or using them.

LandsEnd has some, I think ,but also eBags through Amazon are also popular ones ... PLUS - there is a lot of cost flexibility related to how many you want to buy.

Great Idea, I just added one to my amazon cart, might also buy one for myself

Vacuum storage bags. Makes taking bulky clothes back home with them much easier!

We’ve had good luck with a nice thermos bottle and/or travel coffee mug.

Give her a Visa giftcard, thus way she can get whatever she wants at any store she chooses.
