I’m so happy I have stayed a constant in this little boy’s life. I was his nanny from birth to two-years-old when he started daycare, but was able to see him every Friday and spend the afternoon with him. Now they’ve moved about 50 miles a way and I only see him every other weekend or so but it’s still so worthwhile to me and for him. He’s six now and still refers to me as “my nanny”.
I’m still close to the family and extended family. So close, in fact, my former employers made me the Godmother to their new baby. I love my current job and certainly hope I have the same long term relationship with my adorable current charge as I do with this birthday boy. I just feel very blessed today and so very happy! |
Dear diary... |
Happy Birthday!!! Have fun! |
Did OP break the DCUM nanny rules about only posting about not being paid enough? How foolish of her. |
What an inspiring + heartwarming situation. ![]() And solid proof that there are many loving Nannies out there too! |
+1. And many secure, good mothers. |
So true! |
Barely anyone commented so maybe op should have just kept it to actual topics that are questions not a diary entry. |
Thank you, DCUM police. Now let’s get back to bashing MBs. |
This!!! |

Here a lovely nanny ![]() |
OMG. A new low for DCUM. A positive post about a great nanny and a great family gets flamed. This is the way all nanny jobs should end - with a mutual and continuing relationship with the child. Both the nanny and the parents here get it and respect their child’s/charge’s emotional well being. |
I hear you but why post this? It’s not your private diary. |
So you have said repeatedly! Christ, move on!! OP posted what she posted. Get over it!!! PS. I love the post. I’m glad she wrote it. I am only tired of you. |
