Soooo... one of the families I used to work moved down the coast and hired a new nanny, I’m still very friendly with them
Anyways....she just told me that she had to hire the new nanny after over 2.5 weeks I asked why? What happened? Sie said things I couldn’t believe, never heard about, and if it was me, I’d call CPS on her lol the worst thing was that more than twice the nanny left the child buckled in a booster seat at a table, and one time it was 2.5 hours. Mom has cameras so she was watching all the time while at work. I’m Like are you kidding?!?!?! She said no. I’m Like what is wrong with you?!?! She didn’t fire her until after 2.5 weeks A lot of other things happened such as not providing enough snacks/water, sitting on the couch all day while kid was playing by himself, and zero communication with parents! I’m just curious to see what people think about this. I’m in shock! She’s hiring a new nanny lol |

What do I think?
I personally think any time a family that uses cameras to watch their Nanny all day while at work will always find something that will bother them. How can your former boss watch this Nanny for so much time. Shouldn’t she be working.....??!...... |
That is your takeaway from OP’s post? Seriously? |
|
She’s a truly horrible person (I won’t call her a nanny). I am so sorry for the child. And I agree that your former employer should have fired her sooner.
There are great nannies out there and horrid nannies out there. Unfortunately the bad nannies give us all a bad name. |
OP here, First of all, she just hired a new nanny for her living 2 year old son She uses the cameras for the first few days to see if her child is being abused I’m a nanny and have no problem with cameras So that makes her a great mom She’s not watching them all day long I didn’t know about this until after she fired her and my heart broke I’m still in shock , I think she’s lucky she didn’t get arrested for putting the kid “in a cake” for hours at a time So if cameras are bothering you, you’re either entitled and spoiled, or just a low end nanny that likes to be on the phone If you have a child one day and lucky to have a nanny, don’t tell me you would never get cameras Cameras are everywhere Next time you get your groceries don’t forget you’re being watched |
| Not sure it makes her a great mom if she waited 2.5 weeks to fire her. |
| A great mom would’ve vetted her nanny more properly. I’m confused why she said you would call CPS when the child wasn’t in any immediate danger. I’m also confused why she waited almost 3 weeks to fire a nanny she said you would call CPS on. I’m going to bet she doesn’t pay well and the comp packaged is below average. She’s getting what she pays for. |
| What was she paying this person? You get what you pay for! |
Er, what? I certainly hope he’s living! |
|
When you suspect neglect or abuse you hesitantly end care. When you have video proof there is neglect or abuse you confidently end care, immediately.
How can you say she is a great mom? Any parent who leaves their child in neglectful or abusive care while watching it take place while away at work is condoning the horrible situation. |
+1. I think it’s the frantic nanny from the other threads who constantly posts about hating cameras. Clearly a phone-addict. How can anyone read a post about child neglect and blame the camera that caught her neglecting?!! |
Nope I posted another comment. Good try though! |
+2. |

OP, I truly wish your posts were easier to comprehend.
Is English your first language?? Just because a Nanny doesn’t like being watched by strangers in their private home, means nothing. Nada. Zilch. It doesn’t mean they are low class. Where did you pull that one from?? It is a whole different ballgame being scrutinized in an employee’s private abode vs. a camera (or two) on you as you mingle in a crowd of different people. Duh. |
Go read the thread above this one. A nanny said that and was called low end. Some nanny who constantly posts about loving and encouraging cameras believes it’s the only way you can be trusted and prove you work hard. Other nannies followed suit along with a MB who claimed you couldn’t be trusted and must be on your phone if you hate cameras. |
