We are moving abroad for husband's job. Our nanny knew from the outset that she'd only be caring for baby for 10 months. She is a fantastic nanny and very caring. This is her first full-time gig. When I chatting with her about how much we'd miss her, I saw tears well in her eyes. She gives so much to the job and it must be so hard to know she'll probably never see baby and us again, as we have no plans to return.
Aside from a large bonus and chocolates, what is a nice gift to give her when we leave? I'm terrible at buying good gifts so grateful for any advice. |
An engraved picture frame with a photo of nanny and baby in it.
I received a bracelet with “thank you for helping me grow” engraved in it. Both gifts have meant the world to me as a nanny. |
First of all thank you for caring and understanding OP. Can you keep in touch through Skype? It's probably knowing that she won't see your baby in person that is making it particularly hard (no judgement that's life). As the previous poster said a picture or anything to do with your child will be something she will treasure. |
Your Nanny sounds truly awesome OP!
How about a mug/water bottle w/photos of your child w/Nanny? Don’t forget to add: I love my Nanny ______ . |
