In the past I've not withheld any income tax for our nannies, but now I'm hiring someone full time and hopefully for the long haul. What % approximately do you all generally withhold for income tax?
I'm aware of the Medicare/SS withholding and have done that regardless. |

Withholding income tax is not required for household employers. It's a good idea to do it so your nanny doesn't get stuck paying their entire tax obligation when they file their return.
It works just like a traditional job. Give your nanny a W-4 and the withholding will be based on their allowances. A payroll company can help with this too. |
