So so sad. I have been trying to figure out of it she was really an Au Pair. The news called her a nanny too and many people don’t know what au pair means.

I also read the AP had given her boyfriend keys to the house.

Oh wow, I think she was probably an AP, otherwise AuPaicare would not have contacted host families. Where did you read about the key?

"The New Jersey man accused in a double-killing used a key his au pair girlfriend gave him to enter a Maplewood home early Saturday, stabbed the woman’s boss to death and then chased her down the street to attack her with a knife because she tried to end their relationship, authorities said in court documents."

Yes, this happened in my town. Horrifying doesn't begin to describe it.

So so sad! And really scary! This is probably the elephant in the room, how do you get to a stage where AP is empowered to give key to boyfriend? I just had to ask.

Never. And this is why I would never allow overnight guests. But everyone has their own comfort zone, I guess.

I have a feeling the HF has no idea the boyfriend had a key. Why would he need a key unless he was coming into the house when HF wasn’t home? So sad, they probably had no idea what was going on.

This is probably what was going on, because it doesn't make any sense that any HM would allow that!

Totally agree with, take your business out of my house!

Also we have security camera that records who comes and goes, I don't check it all the time but i will definitely notice if some guy was coming to my house often. (Btw if you live in DC, they will reimburse your security camera $ because it helps prevent/solve crimes)

This story is so scary. Especially after all the threads here about APs going out on dates and being on tinder. Reminds me of a thread awhile back about an APs creepy BF. This makes me want to leave the program.
