Never. And this is why I would never allow overnight guests. But everyone has their own comfort zone, I guess.

Totally agree with, take your business out of my house!

The girl was murdered. Pull yourself together.

This is my agency, too, and I asked my LCC about this terrible story - I cried when I first read the story in the NYT, and again when I told my husband what I had read.

The agency is not telling the story to new APs (our most recent AP arrived about 2 weeks after this happened) but I know that they are emphasizing the importance of staying in public places when meeting someone new and not inviting people to your HF's home.

As a HF, we have been lucky (or maybe it's subconscious) but none of our 3 APs have wanted to seek a boyfriend while here. We have been clear with new AP that we want to know about any friends she would invite to our even in front of our home before doing so, and giving anyone a key is OUT OF THE QUESTION. It's not my job to be generous in every way. Boundaries are important.

I can't imagine being this APs family in Colombia or an AP-friend of hers here in the US. Beyond sad, especially for the rest of the host family!

Allowing overnight guests or not doesn't stop someone from having a key made and giving it to someone. Think.
