Hello fellow nannies!
I’m working in the Palisades NW area near Georgetown Day school. I’m caring for a 6 month old precious little girl and most of the little ones in the neighborhood are older. So, I’m posting in hope to connect with other nannies and set up play dates with other little ones her age! Hope to hear from you! Tawnya |
What do 6 month olds play.? |
If you were with a 6mo all day every day wouldnt you want to get out and meet other people with babies the same age? |
So, you want a playdate for yourself rather than a playdate for a 6 mont old.? |
Lol..OP here. It’s so sad how negative and judgmental people can be for no reason! |
Ignore them. Miserable ppl love being miserable. I’m over in Tenleytown. If you want to meet other nannies go to story times at the library. Cleveland Park, Tenleytown and Georgetown libraries are where I see the most nannies. Palisades library tends to be dead. |
They play listening, discovery, sounds, motor skills, exploration, curiosity, etc. You don’t have kids nor take care of kids I take it. Carry on. |
When we had an au pair for our infant, I insisted she go on play dates. I was well-aware that the play dates served no purpose for our 5 month old, but having our au pair not lose her mind staying alone with a baby all day served a valuable purpose. Story time at the library was a highlight of her / their week. |
Im not the OP, but yes. Thats what a lot of adults do, they find friends to hang out with that have kids the same age. I am a parent and most of my Mom friends have kids my kids age......its normal. |
OP here...thank you ladies for all your positive comments and suggestions. I just thought I would see if there were any nannies in walking distance on this side of town. I’ve primarily worked in the Chevy Chase/Tenleytown/Woodley Park areas, so, know the other libraries and activities. The library story times are unfortunately, during her nap times. I can wait it out for another 2-3 months until she’s a little older and I start driving with her.
While yes, it’s nice to have interaction and friendships with other nannies. My first priority is my charge and having her interact/socialize with other little ones. She’s very curious and observant, even at 6 months old! Thanks Again! |
Go away nasty |
You sound like great parents to work for, seriously! |
