Which type of account are you using with which bank so AP doesn’t pay monthly fees?
Do she need US ID before opening account? I bank with PNC and would prefer that for AP but open to other suggestions. TIA |
Our au pairs have all gotten student accounts at TD Bank. I don’t know anything about PNC but they’ve had no issues and paid no fees.
They do need a social security number to sign up, so we do that the week after their arrival and then they get a bank account as soon as they receive it, usually @10 days later. We give them cash until then. |
My AP has Wells Fargo. If she uses her debit/credit card 10 times, the checking account is free. I think it is about $10 or so if she doesn't use it 10 times. Our AP has never had any issue using her card 10 times in a month. |
Ours have used various banks, they obviously all have different types of accounts and ways to avoid fees. Chase used to be great but now they seem to be insisting on a DL before opening an account (and here you need the bank account to get the DL, so that's impossible). We've had good luck with Citizens. |
Our AP has a bank account with PNC. She has a student checking account. |
Good to know thanks! Did she need ssn or US id to open account? |
