How long does it take for White House Nannies.... RSS feed

I showed interest in a White House Nannies job that was posted on care.com.
I received a email from WHN asking me to fill out their new online application which I did.

How long will it take for them to contact my references?

I tried to work with them years ago and they never even tried to contact any of my employers. I

How long should I wait before I call them to check on my application?

I am a male Nanny.

They're notoriously disorganized.

Do the jobs they post actually exist?

I seriously wouldn’t bother with them. As a former nanny and now a parent, they are a nightmare.

Try nannypoppinz (or a different agency). I get an email about a family, I respond that I’m interested in interviewing, and an interview is immediately scheduled for sometime in the next 2-7 days.

I'll try another agency... but not nannypoppinz.. I've tried them before and the families they represented wanted to pay low wages.

Sure, they’ll post any family. But Susan is great about making sure they post their maximum salary, if there’s a tight budget. So if it says less than I’ll accept, it’s under 5 seconds wasted while I delete the email.

As someone that’s been placed by WHN twice as a nanny each time it took them 3-4 months to place me. You have to constantly call and check on them. First placement they sent me on 4 different family interviews. Second time it took 4 months and they only gave me 1 interview in those 4 months! The only positive is working for their temp division while you wait.

So it's not worth it.
I can find plenty of temp jobs myself. It's the long term jobs I have problems finding.
Meh.

OP here.

I never heard back from them after the first e-mail.
They never called my references.
I did find a new job. A family found me on care.com.
I start in a week with a two month-old.
