Is it always this dead? There's minimal activity, posts are days apart. Last time I was here there was way more activity. Maybe that's why people resurrect 2 year old posts because they are still on the first page of most recent results! What's going on?!?!?

Feels the same to me.

Maybe people are finally learning to read the archives and not ask questions that have already been answered.

How many times do people need it written out that they should always have a contract, or what's appropriate to ask of a nanny?

I was wondering this too! I used DCUM years ago and then moved out of state for about 7 years. It seems much less active now than it used to be.

There’s a new forum on this site for “childcare other than daycare and preschool” under “dcum forums.” I assume much of the discussion moved there.

Nanny here. I discovered this site about 5 years ago. I had expected that discussions on the site would be about child development, relationships, outings, responsibilities, etc. Instead, almost all of the discussion is just about money. So I rarely read or post on the forums.

Either about money or how horrible my boss is.

I usually just stick to the ads when looking for a job.

When I'm not on the market I keep clear.
