Au pair switching agencies RSS feed

So my au pair is leaving in the summer and her au pair friend wants to come extend with us.

A couple of issues:

1. She is not with the same agency. Does anyone know how difficult it is to switch? And costs?
2. She is not technically available for two months after we need her. I could probably manage one month without but would need her to leave her current family one month early.

I feel badly about asking her to leave early but also know that her current situation is not great and they are well outside the rules of the program.

Thoughts?

I would not encourage the AP to break her contract with the other HF. You may only have one side of the story, and she might be leaving you early, especially since extension APs can get burned out. Plus you'd still have a month to cover. Since it's summer, you might be able to get a college student. Forget temporary nannies. BTDT. It was a horrible experience (nobody I would have hired permanently).

Your plan is simply not possible. A particular agency sponsored the AP's visa. It cannot be transferred.

YOU can switch agencies. The AP cannot once here already.

You have to switch agencies and they may be happy to have a new customer if the current hf will let their ap go early.

That is the only way your plan could work. Long shot but you can try.
