Time for yearly contract update

Hello families so I have a question. Our nanny has been with us for 2 years now. This year will mark year 3 but of course we've had a few changes I had another baby and our oldest will be starting daycare in march only for 2 days a week. I go back to work in February but I wanted to go over the contract adding the new baby and everything. So my question to you is do I give her an annual raise on top of the additional pay for the new baby and also for those of you with multiple kids do you still pay your nannies full wage when you have a child in daycare part time as well. Your advice will be well appreciated. Also how much more additional pay did you do for the second baby.

Yes, we gave both the annual and new baby raise. And no, we made no changes/deductions for our older child being in daycare since our nanny was still responsible for caring for her on the constant sick days and holidays as well as continued to do her laundry, clean her room and make her meals. Nanny also does drop off and pick up a few times a week.

1. Col raise at least
2. $1-2 minimum for the baby, as soon as you’re home full time, even if you’re home before the birth
3. No discount for part-time preschool or full day daycare a few days per week. Nanny keeps doing laundry, kid tidying/organizing, adds pick up/drop off, lunch and other daycare/preschool prep, and covers for all sick days, weather and other closures. You’re paying for continuity of care and availability.
4. Keep in mind that the toddler’s activities need to mesh with baby’s schedule. Toddler should have some activities when not at preschool, but they may be less while the infant gets through the first couple months.
5. Keep in mind that kid-related laundry and cleaning are less important than childcare. If your toddler has a bad day and your infant isn’t on a schedule yet, things will slide. Make peace with it now.

Amuse me, but why would you NOT pay tour nanny her full wage when your oldest is in preschool? She’s still going to be caring for the newborn. I’m appalled you’d even ask. So what did you think? You would knock down a few dollars per hour but then give her a few more for the new baby? Yea lady no. It seems to me you have a few lose screws. Either way, no you still pay her her hourly rate plus whatever you increase it to

I agree.
At least three extra dollars per hour since newborns are a TON of work.

They require multiple feedings by the Nanny, as well as numerous diaper changes.
They cry often + are many times inconsolable at best.

Plus they are not on a schedule so the Nanny won’t be able to adhere to one either.

I know your nanny loves you guys haha. I am hoping this is the case when the older 2 go to school this fall. 1 family has already said they will keep my rate the same because they want to keep me around and hopefully have another child. The other family, well, I think they will try and nickel and dime me; they have 2 children (3 child share).

Yes, you pay the full wage as its your choice to put your child in day care and she's there regardless of where your child is. Why does a 2 year old need to go to day care for 2 days a week? That seems like a waste of money. Wait till three and then a few day a week half day program.
