Chicago nanny here. The pay is way below normal. No benefits? This position sounds like it sucks.

Length of employment: almost 1 year

Weekly pay (average): Nannyshare with take home a little over $1000 weekly

Perks/Benefits: 2 weeks paid vacation, all federal holidays paid off, 3 sick days paid

Bonus: $2000 (each family gave me a different amount that totaled this)

Gift(s): Cashmere sweater and shoes

Comments: Been blessed to have awesome families. I truly enjoy my families and babies, especially this share.

Perks/Benefits: health ins. stipend, 15 days PTO, mileage reimbursement, gym membership

Weekly pay (average): $920 ($23/hr, guaranteed pay for 40 hours a week)

Perks/Benefits: 2 weeks paid vacation, all federal holidays paid off, 5 sick days

Bonus: $4,600 (they’ve been giving me a weeks pay per year I’ve been with them. I really lucked out with this family.)

Gift(s): Bluetooth wireless earbuds, Michael Kors gloves and a $100’ restaurant gift card for me and my husband

Comments: so blessed to work for this family. Was placed with them 5 years ago through an agency and really got the dream family. Both kids are in full time school this year and they still kept me on full time as they want me to stay with them for at least another 3-5 years.

Gifts: none. Bonus is enough.

Comments: It would mean the world to me if my charge made me a little card or video wishing me a Happy Christmas. But she and her family won’t.

But that’s okay. The bonus will be fine and appreciated.
