Please plan for childcare coverage for a few hours so your nanny can vote. Make it easy for her. |
I never voted when I was a nanny and there are alternatives to voting outside of work hours. You can mail in your vote for example. Some families do not have a lot of PTO. |
My nanny is not a citizen so no issue here. (She is legal to work here.) |
Same. But if she could vote, i’d be ok with her taking DC (baby) with her to vote. Or she could mail in, like I’m going to. |
Some states require more reason for mail in voting than “ not enough PTO”. |
Why didn’t you vote when you were a nanny and how is your lack of participation relevant? Nannies, I hope you make it a priority to vote outside of working hours unlesss impossible based on your schedule and voting time. |
I think DH asked our nanny - he said he does absentee ballot. |
Yes, nanny asked and will come in late on Tuesday. She is a definite politico and would never miss voting. |
For most full time nannies, it is not possible to vote outside your working hours. My employers gladly gave me two hours off in the morning though I doubt it will take that long. I generally start work at 7:30 and leave at 6. With my commute and evening traffic, I would never get to the polls between 7 and 7. I would if I could. |
My employers said, I could take the kids along to the voting place. |
I just take the kids with me to vote. Why do some of you on here have to act to weird? It’s not hard. This is why most of you are always job hopping, meanwhile nannies like me stay at each job for 5+ years. |
Stop. My polling place and home are an hour plus can in traffic. Stop you’re ridiculous self-congratulation. I am a highly paid nanny with the same family for over five years. I would not want my charges stuck in the car for two hours. |
? I work for a high profile family that has a body guard accompany us where ever we go off the property. Plus where I vote is about 45 minutes from my employers home. WHy in the world would I drag my charges and their security back to my neighborhood when I can take an extra half hour and vote before work? |
You are jerk, PP. I am not going to take my infant charge on the metro to vote when I can do it after work if I get relieved a little early. You must be some suburban nanny. |
[b] No, you stop. Have you not heard of a mail in ballot??? Also, you can vote anywhere. I did it last time at a polling place near my work with the kids. It’s called a provisional ballot. |
