? I work for a high profile family that has a body guard accompany us where ever we go off the property. Plus where I vote is about 45 minutes from my employers home. WHy in the world would I drag my charges and their security back to my neighborhood when I can take an extra half hour and vote before work?

Sorry hon, I also work for a celeb and security came with us. Not going to work as your excuse. You are unprofessional and lazy. Mail in your ballot, vote provisionally or take the kids.

Why didn’t you vote when you were a nanny and how is your lack of participation relevant?

Nannies, I hope you make it a priority to vote outside of working hours unlesss impossible based on your schedule and voting time. [/quote

Newsflash: lot's of Americans do not vote.

You are truly ridiculous. My employers do not want their children at a polling place. Their call.

I truly feel sorry for your changes having such a pathetic know-it-all nanny.

I don't give time off to our nanny; Paying her 13.00 is more than enough.

Can't Vote; She is illegal.

Just take the kid or mail or go before or after work. Most parents are not taking off to vote and to take off they'd have to use leave which defeats the purpose of a nanny.

Lazy and unprofessional is dragging kid 45 minutes each way and security to vote. You do it on your personal time.

No way do you work for a “celeb”. No high profile security would allow you to drag your poor charge to a crowded and unsecured polling place. Los Angeles nanny here and you, Hon, are full of crap.

Yes, my employers always give me a few hours off to vote. Both are well known “politicos”.

I wonder if it is illegal to not allow an employee time off to vote.

(This posting made me start wondering....)

My bosses, nks, and I go together. Always have. Then out for breakfast. They then head out to work and kiddos and I go about our day.

We live in a state where you have to have a reason, beyond working, to qualify for a mail in ballot.

And no one uses “LMAO” anymore, Grandma.

Happy to give our amazing nanny the full morning off, paid of course, to vote and drive her family to the polls. DH and I both feel strongly that Election Day should be a federal holiday and would have given her the whole day except we are volunteering driving in our neighborhood.
