1 infant and 1 toddler, how much?
2 weeks paid vacation, 5 sick days, most holidays. No healthcare, no housekeeping outside of straightening up after kids and cleaning bottles. 5 minute walk from Eastern Market metro. |
| $20-23/h |
|
On the books or not? College graduate or not? How much experience?
Anywhere from $22 to $30 |
Try this and see the kind of candidates you get. And how long they last. |
| On the books, college is not a requirement but at least 5 years working with infants and toddlers simultaneously. |
| Guarantee the 40 hours a week, and at least $23 gross. |
At least $23 to $25 an hour. No question. You are competing against jobs with one child at $20 to $25 in your area. |
$25-$30 for someone qualified, with experience caring for both an infant and toddler, and who is dependable. Good luck! |
|
I would say minimum $20/Hr.
$30/Hr. seems pretty inflated unless you are in San Francisco or Manhattan. |
Try this in DC and see who you can get and keep. |
There is only one way to find out, advertise the job and see who shows up. Take note of the candidates you like and how much they ask for. That's the only reliable indicator, anything else is dust in the wind. |
Agreed however retention is vitally important as well. You don’t want a nanny who will leave when a better paying job comes along. A toddler and infant is a tough gig for anyone. Pay too low and she could leave for the same salary but an easier gig. |
“...and keep” being the key phrase. |
