Making the transition from daycare teacher to nannying

I am getting ready to move from being a teacher in the infant center of a good preschool to becoming a nanny. I am going to meet with a good agency here in Los Angeles.

Any tips or pointers would be appreciated! I want to impress the agency and the potential employers in interviews.

For agency: dress conservatively and nicely - between business and play. Remember you will be representing them. And also be warm and friendly - charm them a little. Have all your information with you - address and numbers of your current school, IDs, all reference numbers, college transcripts, resume. Have a conversation with the person interviewing you and asking you questions.

Also, have all vaccinations and flu shots ready. I know some families who require this and is a must. I’m assuming you’re up to date with this. Also, dont accept an hourly pay range unless you know you’re completely comfortable living off of it. In addition, make sure you are clear as to what you’re there to do. For example, be clear about what you expect to do (baby’s laundry NOT parents, tidying up children’s area etc). I say this from experience

This is really important when interviewing with a good agency. Be prepared.
