... and at least one quarter of the teachers there have asked how to become a nanny in the last month or if I know anyone looking for a nanny.
It’s a very well respected preschool, too. It puts me in a precarious position of not wanting to anger the school’s director but wanting to help these women. My charge will be in this school for another three years. WWYD? |

“I can’t help you job search, but XYZ are reputable agencies in the area.”
If all of the staff are looking to make a change, then there is an issue—either pay is low, the work is too hard (are the same teachers running before and aftercare too), or the administrators are not creating a positive environment. That’s not on you to fix. |
I agree about giving the name of a great agency - probably your agency - and putting in a good word for them if you want but nothing more. Preschool teachers are very much in demand as nannies and can easily earn between $25 to $35 an hour. No preschool is going to pay that. But no medical generally and no job that lasts 30 yrs like a school. |

I would just kindly tell them that if I hear of anything, I will be glad to give them the teacher’s contact info.
You shouldn’t feel awkward at all. |
