Nanny’s playgroup RSS feed

Anonymous
A friend of DS has a nanny who runs a weekly playgroup for about five or six toddlers. The nanny used to be a teacher. All the mothers and one other nanny stay since the kids are all just two or a bit older.

This playgroup nanny has sensory bins set up, has the kids painting and playing with homemade play dough. And she gives them a snack and reads them a book. She also insists on doing all clean up herself.

I spoke to the nanny’s boss about splitting the cost of the materials the kids use and she declined. But what about compensating the nanny? Maybe a gift?

Thanks for any insight!

Where is this playdate being run? In one of the mom's homes?

I would give a small seasonal gift to the host mom and to the nanny once in awhile.

Haven’t you posted about this previously?

I saw something similar but the op complained the other moms weren’t helping with cleaning afterwards.

A small gift is a lovely idea, for both the nanny and the host mom.

No. I haven’t been in the group long enough to have posted about it before. Yes, it is at the nanny’s employer’s home.

I do this too. Insist on cleaning up. You can help her in that regard.
