What is everyone paying their part-time nannies these days? We pay $21/hr, 16 PTO days, plus federal holidays/OPM closures, with a guaranteed schedule.

We are actually still paying the nanny for full time care even though this year both kids are in school. This way we have someone if they're sick or have a day off. We've had the same nanny for six years. They are up to $22 an hour.

OP - For how many children, ages & household duties, if any?

Wow to the Nanny who makes $22/Hr. just for on-call work!

just 1 young elementary aged child, no household duties. She's not really "on call" - she has a fixed schedule although she almost always can can cover additional hours for school days off etc.

sorry, I realize you mean the nanny working pt for ft pay! I don't think that's that uncommon for high-earning families that want to keep their nannies when the kids go to school. There's still a lot of non-school time to cover, and the nanny needs FT work.

Is your nanny willing to do other simple household duties? For example, if you had a delivery or repair scheduled, are they willing to stay in the home to let them in?

Totally, and has done stuff like that all along. He just started online college classes. He's welcome to do the work at our house or not, as he likes.

It’s fairly common for families to maintain their nanny. There are after school activities, snack, no school days, sick days, and the entire summer. Parents with demanding jobs keep their nannies. Also, nannies generally take on a few household management responsibilitiesto fill some of the time and help things run smoothly. But $22 after 6 years is not very much.

same plus some flex to work fulltime. she is older so does not want/ need a morning job as well. plus 50 hour weeks between two families can be exhausting. besides fighting over holiday days.
