SUPER BUSY Family in Washington D.C is looking for a Montessori, RIE, Waldorf Nanny

Montessori, RIE, or Waldorf LEAD teacher/Nanny NEEDED! Experience in an AMI certified Montessori classroom would be amazing. This is a lead nanny position, must be willing to help train others through example. Someone who is genuinely kind, patient, loving, but can also establish boundaries in an INCREDIBLY loving way. There are 4 children, 4, 2 and 7 months old.

Great at playing with kids. Someone who is good at inventing games, is creative, who likes thinking up projects, who does research, likes activities, is willing to learn more about topics that the kids are interested in discussing. A nanny who can get along very well with others, and other staff members. Someone who is a team player and who has a strong sense of self. Is confident and humble, positive and optimistic. MUST HAVE energy. Someone who is happy simply when the situation around them is good and healthy. Someone who is emotionally intelligent, and who understands when it's appropriate to be loud, and when it's appropriate to be quiet.
One who is mentally organized, and not forgetful. Someone who is conscientious.
Someone who won't mind being employed by a young couple.

A nanny who doesn't even think twice when the kid's friends come over, and there are more kids around. Someone who is energized by the presence of kids, and their friends, and is not depleted by it or upset that their job just got "harder."
Someone who takes initiative to meet other parents and nannies, and sets up play-dates and meet-ups with other children that the kids seem interested in.
Someone who is willing to share positive direction with the mom (when appropriate and pertinent to their job)... someone not afraid to speak their mind, but also willing to take direction if mom continues to disagree.

MUST BE willing to travel.
MUST BE willing to work 9-10 hours per day, 5 days per week.
Someone who is occasionally willing to work extra hours, or on weekends.

The family does not give off for holidays, because since they have their our own company. They DO NOT get holidays off. The father does not get off for holidays either because he is an ER physician. However, they are willing to pay 1.5x regular pay for federal holidays.
The exception to this is that they will give off for Easter, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve is a half day, and they will give off Christmas Day. The family usually needs help during these days, and anyone willing to work on these "special" holidays gets paid 2x regular salary.

Family expects all employees to be willing to pull 24 (twenty four) 24-hr shifts per year at a special rate of $400/shift (meaning $400 per every 24 hours). This is for travel with the family, or to stay at their home around the clock as they travel.
Since they don't take the same nannies on each trip, the flip side of this is that each nanny also gets paid time off when they aren't the ones traveling... like an extra bonus vacation.

10 workdays of paid vacation. The nanny MUST make her own arrangements with others who are employed by me to get coverage while they are away.

5 paid sick days. Unless there are extenuating circumstances, the nanny must make her own arrangements for coverage when she's sick. The reason for this is that my husband has zero flexibility in his job and can't pick up his phone when on shift, and I am the COO of my family's company, and many meetings that I have truly cannot be rescheduled because they involve raising money from investors, or other time sensitive issues that would truly compromise the operations of the company if delayed. Also, skipping meetings because my nanny didn't show up is not something that is acceptable in my role... though I have a bit of flexibility in terms of when I choose to schedule things, once they are scheduled I no longer have flexibility...my job is not super family friendly in that regard.

Hourly pay is negotiable, and will vary depending on how qualified the applicant is...
Family is willing to pay TOP PAY$$$ for someone who is a lead Montessori teacher in a classroom and embodies all the qualities I mentioned above.

PLEASE forward your PROFESSIONAL teacher/nanny resume with photo!

They better be willing to pay at least $30, I’m assuming mom wrote the ad and she seems neurotic and entitled

She better pay damn well. And it is interesting that she wants a Waldorf or Montessori teacher as they are pretty different philosophies.

What nanny would have a problem working with a young couple? Old couples don’t have babies.

And she has four children but only lists the ages of three.

I doubt there are twins because from the looks of the ad she should hve specifies that. Plus, as a nanny looking at ads I would want to know if the 7 year olds are the twins or the 7 months olds. Makes a huge difference

Well at the very least, she didn’t offer to pay peanuts but still the position seems very inflexible.

This lady would OWN you!

Twins still have ages, Einstein. When considering a nanny job, the difference between nannying two seven year olds or two
Eight months old are very, very different. Sad you missed that, Einstein.

I doubt she knows the difference between Waldorf and Montessori - she just wants to tell people her nanny has elite teaching experience. Pathetic!

Each employee is expected to pull 24 overnight 24 hour days ....that’s at least twice per month! And Weekends!

This lasy is nuts.

Nope, it's consecutive, during travel.

Wowwwwwwww I already earn $35/hr for two nice kids and normal parents so no thanks to this hot mess!!

Something tells me this woman’s idea of “TOP PAY$$$” is based on nothing but her own ridiculous assumptions of what a nanny should make. Her “special” travel pay comes out to less than $17 an hour! Hell to the no!

Even if you run it at 16 hours instead of 24 (presuming she’s one of the many employers who doesn’t understand that there’s almost always an overnight rate as well), it only comes out to $25/hour, which is low for four children, and that’s without factoring in OT for the week, which would be expected. She specifically said that this was for travel, so unless they only travel for a day and a half and the nanny has off for the rest?

If you run the numbers as overtime rate for all 16, it’s also $16.67/ hour, which is ludicrous for four children.
