| Hi, any suggestions on what the GROSS pay per hour should be for hiring a nanny to look after a 2 year old and 3 month old? I am also a stay at home mom so I intend to help her out (look after one of the 2 children) for about 70% of the time she is working with us. No cooking required and any light cleaning will all be related to the toddler if the toddler makes a mess. Thanks! |
| On one hand, Mother’s helpers are supervised, so you can usually pay less. On the other hand, most nannies hate working with a parent at home. So! Try to find someone brand new that won’t know that it’s not a good idea, and you’ll be able to pay the very bottom end of the scale (exactly what that is depends on location, whether either child has special needs and hours). |
| $20-22 depending on experience. Personally, I don’t mind a parent being at home. It actually makes things easier |
I cannot stand when I have to work alongside ANYONE as a Nanny.
I do not mind the occasional parent at home, but every day would be a tough job to do! Honestly-> You couldn’t pay $$ me enough. But to answer your question, around $17-18 p/h. |
| You need to pay really well for a professional nanny to work alongside a sahm at least $25/hr. OTOH if you just need some help a few hours a day 3-4 days per week you could get a high school or college aged mother’s helper for 10-15/hr. |
I beg to differ. When it’s part time you should be paying more, to make it worth their time. A SAHM doesn’t need a $25/ hr nanny. I’d say around the $18-23/h for a nanny where the mom is a SAHM |
