Check is okay ? Or just cash

It is illegal to not report wages paid in cash. So technically, you can get paid cash, but legally you have to report. It is not the best way to get paid, so I suggest asking to be paid through a pay roll service. Employers are required to pay pay toll taxes as well as employers tax. Additionally, when you are on pay roll you get taxes withheld.

What a drain on society you are!

By law. Taxed

But if you love breaking the law. And waiting to one day be caught.

Cash. It’s untraceable if you’re giving it to someone.
If you’re a nanny give the cash to a family member to give to you.

I would say ca$h is the better option since checks leave behind a tangible money/paper trail.

You’re required to report wages earned when it’s over a certain amount.

Op, is this for a nanny or babysitting?

It’s babysitting
Thanks

Babysitting doesn’t reach the threshold, so you can pay by check. If you do reach the threshold, then you have a part time nanny and you need to pay taxes.
