Hello all, my husband and I are considering getting a nanny car for our nanny. She currently uses either my husbands car (when he’s home) or her car. However, I think long term our nanny would benefit from using a car we buy. We pay her for mileage and provide $20 for gas per week. We would like to buy a mini van since we have 3 kids.
Anyone here have a nanny car and want to share their thoughts? Thank you in advance! |
| I think of it more in terms of a kid car vs a nanny car and I think it’s a great idea. 3 kids and occasional friends joining, how does anyone not have a minivan!?! |
Yes I agree! Plus a minivan can easily fit 3 kids! Thanks! |
+ 1. We have 4 kids. We bought the van when expecting number 3. The van stays at our house, and the nanny drives it while at work. Then we drive it on the weekends or other times we have all the kids. There are so many advantages, including being able to install the seats and know they'll stay installed, being able to decide about car maintenance and repairs, not having to worry about someone else's car if your kid pukes one day, and being able to carry the amount of insurance you think is necessary. |
| We just bought our nanny of two years a new SUV. It is a great idea because we know it is safe, everything installed correctly and in great condition. She drives it to and from work everyday. We pay one week’s worth of gas and all insurance and registration. |
